Monica Diaz is a San Diego native and received her B.A. in Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego in 2012. She has shown her work throughout San Diego, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Moni has worked as a freelance artist and graphic designer since 2016 and has created a variety of work including: illustrations, paintings, murals, stickers, apparel, and beer can designs.

Moni is most known for creating portraits with numbers. Moni’s artwork centers around hip hop artists and uses the area codes of where an artist is from to compose a portrait entirely out of numbers.

In 2021 and 2024, Moni created a special collection of portraits of selected Padres players that are made entirely out of the player’s number. All the portraits were made digitally using a tablet.

Moni currently resides in Imperial Beach, CA, and continues to work as a freelance artist, designer, and art instructor.
