MOPOCHA
2015 - 2018
A CELEBRATION OF MY MEXICAN-AMERICAN IDENTITY.
Between 2015 and 2018 I went by the name MOPOCHA, a combination of the first two letters of my first name and the word “pocha.” All throughout high school and after I was called “pocha” on several locations due to my “accent” when speaking Spanish. During this time, I experimented with pieces that touched upon quintessential Mexican-American themes as well as embracing my upbringing in America while still maintaining my Mexican identity.
