TINY GIANT TAPROOM
BARRIO LOGAN, CALIFORNIA
Tiny Giant Taproom is a community-focused craft beer bar in Barrio Logan that regularly partners with local artists, businesses, and organizations to celebrate the neighborhood through events and collaborations. For their first Chicano Park Day celebration, I was commissioned to create a limited-edition event T-shirt that reflected both the brewery's identity and the cultural significance of the event.

To celebrate Tiny Giant's first Chicano Park Day event, the taproom wanted a shirt that honored the spirit of the festival while incorporating recognizable elements of the Tiny Giant brand. I looked to the Aztec calendar as the foundation for the illustration and simplified its structure before weaving in details unique to Tiny Giant, including the taproom's signature rubber ducks and its logo. The goal was to create something that felt rooted in the celebration while remaining connected to the brewery.
The design was produced in two colorways—a black-and-white version and a brown-and-gold edition inspired by San Diego baseball colors. The limited-edition shirts became a popular part of the event and reflected Tiny Giant's commitment to celebrating Barrio Logan through art and community.

Working with Monica was effortless. From the initial discussion of the vision, to the end result and variations, we couldn't have been more satisfied with the outcome. The design sold out very fast and we still get requests a year later to bring it back!
